TWO SHORT FILMS – OPEN CASTING

Raucous Pictures are conducting a major search of the West Midlands area for two boys of South East Asian descent (i.e. Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi) to star as the lead in one of two short films. The films are to be directed by award winning Black Country filmmaker Billy Dosanjh whose work has featured on BBC, Channel 4 and in cinemas nationwide. No formal acting experience is needed to apply.

 

CASTING SEARCH

 

  • Unrepresented boys or non-actor boys of any Southeast Asian origin

  • Male 12 yrs – 17 yrs

  • Boys from the Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton area

This is a unique opportunity to play the lead in one of two short films with cultural institution backing and be part of stories which are unique in their ability to put the Black Country at the centre of the big screen experience. In total we are looking for three boys of to play the leads across these two films. The aim is to shoot in Birmingham in late 2021 (i.e. November or December).

 

TWO FILMS

 

LUMBU: The dramatic story of ‘Lumbu’ and best friend Ravi as the navigate the consequences of a long-held family secret finally becoming known. Funded by the British Film Institute and BBC Film.

 

INDI FOR ENGLAND: The heartfelt story of Britain’s first great hope as a professional South Asian footballer, his desi Mum, his preoccupied Dad, and the sport he loves. Funded by Film London.

 

HOW TO APPLY
